Unidentified men opened fire at actor Tiger Shroff's car near Pushpa Park in Juhu, Mumbai, on Sunday evening, October 18. Police have said the actor was not hit by any bullet and is safe. His driver was injured and is being treated at Nanavati Hospital.

The shooting is believed to have happened between 7 pm and 7.30 pm. Three men on a motorcycle are said to have pulled up and fired at the vehicle. Accounts differ on the number of rounds: they range from three to five. Shroff was reportedly on his way out after a football game. A large crowd had gathered to see him, and one account says the shots came from within that crowd. A video of the incident has since surfaced.

Early reports said Shroff and two others had been wounded and rushed to hospital, and that flying glass from a shattered window had injured him. Those reports did not hold. Mohit Garg, DCP of Zone 1 in the Western Region, confirmed that Shroff suffered no bullet injury. Mumbai Police also said the actor was unhurt. The team of his father, Jackie Shroff, said Tiger is fine.

The driver is the confirmed casualty. It is not clear whether he was hit by a bullet or hurt in the confusion that followed, and the seriousness of his injury has not been established. Some reports add that an autorickshaw driver was also injured.

Juhu police station is handling the case. Police cordoned off the area and have formed 12 teams to identify and arrest the shooters. Officers are going through CCTV footage and other technical evidence from the spot, and are trying to find the motive. No arrest had been reported and no firm lead on the suspects had emerged at the time of writing.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti as soon as he learnt of the incident, according to sources in the Chief Minister's Office. He told the force to speed up the probe and act strictly against those responsible. State Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar also spoke to the actor's family.

A social media post has been circulating in the names of gangsters Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, who are said to be based abroad. It claims the attack on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and says Shroff had been warned earlier. It also threatens "everyone who works with Salman Khan" and others in the Mumbai film industry. Neither the post nor the gang's alleged hand has been officially confirmed, and the claim should not be treated as established while the investigation continues.

Politicians reacted sharply. Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant posted on X: "The news of the firing on actor Tiger Shroff's car is extremely shocking. What exactly is going on in Mumbai?" He pointed to the murder of Baba Siddique, the firing on Salman Khan's house and the threats to many actors and producers. "There is no law and order left in the state, there is complete lawlessness, and the Chief Minister has failed utterly," he said. Sawant recalled that people once said "Maharashtra has become Bihar", and added that it has come to the point of saying Bihar is better. He said his party publicly condemns a government that has pushed Mumbai into the terror of criminals and gangsters.

The firing revives worries about the safety of film personalities in the city. In April 2024, two men on a motorcycle fired five rounds outside Salman Khan's home, Galaxy Apartment in Bandra, and the Bishnoi gang claimed that attack too. Police then registered cases against several criminals. In February 2026, shots were fired outside the Juhu residence of director Rohit Shetty, and police arrested some main suspects and shooters. In January 2026, actor and film critic Kamaal R. Khan was detained over an alleged direct link to a shooting case in Oshiwara, Andheri.

On the work front, Shroff stars in Lag Jaa Gale, directed by Raj Mehta, with Janhvi Kapoor and Laksh in the lead roles. It is due for release on May 14, 2027. He also has an untitled action film directed by Remo D'Souza, with Abhishek Banerjee, Elvish Yadav, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Pashmina Roshan in key roles. Shooting is complete, and the makers are expected to announce a release date soon.
