Dnyandev Ranjane, seen as a loyalist of Minister Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale, defeated Vitthal Gole, a Shashikant Shinde loyalist, in the Satara District Bank society seat.

Dnyandev Ranjane has registered a big win in the society constituency of the Satara District Bank. He defeated Vitthal Gole by a margin of 30 votes. Ranjane is considered a loyalist of Minister Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale.

Ranjane, a director of the district bank, began his political career under the guidance of Minister Bhosale. Vitthal Gole, on the other hand, is considered a loyalist of state president Shashikant Shinde. The contest on this seat was a direct one between Ranjane and Gole.

This was the second time Ranjane had been given a candidacy for the district bank. He did the micro-planning for the entire election under Minister Bhosale's guidance. Because of this micro-planning, he got 38 of 47 votes in today's result, while Gole got 8. Voters of the Malchoudi society could not cast their votes because of a change in the name.

Before the election, it was believed that state president Shashikant Shinde would himself contest against Ranjane. At the last moment, however, Shinde fielded his loyal supporter Vitthal Gole, general secretary of the Mathadi Kamgar Union. Gole, too, followed his leader's order and entered the contest out of loyalty alone. The result was one-sided.

Ranjane's wife, Archana Ranjane, had lost from the Kusumbi group in the Satara Zilla Parishad election. After that, many people had claimed that his political strength in this group was greater. It has now emerged that it was only a swelling. People who project themselves as leaders by attending the aarti during Ganpati festival could not even secure a simple society resolution.

After the win, Ranjane's supporters celebrated in Javali taluka by throwing gulal and bursting firecrackers.

Shashikant Shinde's absence has also become a talking point. Workers of his camp had expected that after fielding his supporter, Shinde would be present on polling day and boost supporters' morale. It is being said that he did not come to vote at all and did not cast his own vote. When a loyal supporter is in the fray, the leader's presence matters to workers. For this reason, there is much talk in Javali's political circles about Shinde's absence.

Young workers also played a role in Ranjane's win. Sagar Dhanawade, Jaydeep Shinde and Sameer Attar were entrusted with the responsibility of everything from collecting society resolutions to handling voters through the voting process. Opponents were raising a din over voters being sent on a trip, but this was only a part of the election process. Ranjane's associates looked after these voters, who were taken on the trip for about two and a half months, like family, and did so sincerely. This strong support made Ranjane's path to victory easier.
