Actor Harshvardhan Rane will soon appear in a hard-hitting crime thriller. The release date of director Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming film 'Police Company' has been announced. The film will release in cinemas on June 4, 2027.

In the film, Rane will play former encounter specialist Daya Nayak. Marathi actress Ashwini Kalsekar will also appear in it. The film is based on the violent phase of Mumbai's underworld and on police action, and audiences are curious about it.

The film will tell the story of Mumbai between 1997 and 2004. 'Police Company' will centre on the operations of the Mumbai Police's Special Encounter Squad. The underworld had a major influence in Mumbai in those years. During this period, the squad shot dead about 300 underworld gangsters. Against this backdrop, the film will put on screen the world of crime, police action and the conditions of that era.

Fans are watching to see what style Rane brings to the role of Daya Nayak. Through events from Nayak's career, the film will try to show the clash between Mumbai's underworld and the police machinery.

The cast is also strong. Alongside Rane, Fardeen Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Paresh Rawal, Saurabh Shukla, Makrand Deshpande and Ashwini Kalsekar will play important roles. This group of veteran actors and the Mumbai underworld backdrop have kept the film in the conversation.

Varma depicted Mumbai's underworld close to reality in films such as 'Satya' and 'Company'. With 'Police Company', he returns to the same world. This time the film will put on screen the role of the police machinery and its clash with the criminal world.

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Ram Gopal Varma. It is being made jointly by T-Series Films and RGV Company.
