A large march was held in Mumbai on Sunday against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which is being opposed across the country. It was led by Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS president Raj Thackeray. Raj Thackeray targeted the government at the march. "They have no fear. They want to give everything to just one industrialist," he said.

The Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) have extended open support to the march. Congress leaders Balasaheb Thorat, Vijay Wadettiwar, Jitendra Awhad, Anil Deshmukh, Anil Parab and Amit Thackeray, Jayant Patil of Sharad Pawar's NCP, and MP Sanjay Raut were among the many Opposition leaders present.

Raj Thackeray said: "We have no anger at all that you are sitting in power. But how you came to sit there is what matters. Let the people decide who sits where. However much the public speaks, however many agitations they hold, they go on saying we will do what we want to do. They have no fear. They want to give everything to one industrialist. Under the Congress, many big industrialists grew big, not just one. The courts and the media have been taken over."

He also asked where those in power would go if someone else came to power tomorrow and did more than this. How would it work, he asked, to come to power and then run a steamroller over everyone? He thus raised the question of how those in power should conduct themselves.

Speaking about the 2024 elections, Raj Thackeray said that despite a full majority there was no celebration in Maharashtra, no enthusiasm among people and silence everywhere, and asked what kind of victory this was. He also said that 4 million to 6 million voters were added between the Lok Sabha elections and the 2024 Assembly elections.

As opposition continues across the country, the Thackeray brothers have now taken on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
