Passengers using Pune Metro's Line 1 and Line 2 will continue to get connectivity with Line 3 as usual. Passengers can travel between the different routes and change lines without any interruption.

The administration has appealed to passengers to plan their journeys around the new timetable so that they face no inconvenience. Line 3's timings have been changed in line with the changes Mahametro has made to the timetable of Lines 1 and 2.

The line from Shivajinagar to Hinjewadi was opened to passengers on Wednesday, November 4, after waiting of several years. On the first day, passengers welcomed the metro by shouting "Ganpati Bappa Morya". IT employees, working people and women passengers showed particular enthusiasm.

With the line's opening, thousands of employees working at the Hinjewadi IT Park are expected to get relief from the daily traffic jams. IT employee Kunal Dhande said it took him only 22 minutes to get from R.K. Laxman Station to TCS. Passengers also praised the two-wheeler parking below the stations and the easy ticketing system.

The metro has also brought relief to women working in the IT sector. Travelling late at night by cab or private vehicle had brought difficulty and safety concerns, and they now have a new public transport option. Shivani Indre, the first woman passenger, said she had been waiting for the metro to start for several months. In her words, she felt afraid travelling by cab at night, but since the metro started the journey has become safer and less stressful.
