Despite a good box-office run for 'Drishyam 3', no new Hindi film is releasing in cinemas this week. The release of 'Udta Teer' has also been pushed back. With little new to watch in theatres, it is a busy week for OTT viewers, with 15 new films and web series arriving on various platforms.

The titles span thrillers, psychological dramas, action, romance and horror. Some of the notable releases:

'Reporting Live' stars Parineeti Chopra in the lead and is an investigative thriller. It follows an ambitious young investigative journalist who, while probing the dangerous world of illegal sand-mining mafias, gets caught in a serious conspiracy.

With her experienced cameraman, she chases a key lead, but as the investigation progresses, the matter turns deadly. Shekhar Suman, Adil Hussain and Amol Palekar also play important roles. 'Reporting Live' releases on Netflix on October 9.

'EYES' is a psychological thriller web series directed by Manu Ashokan. Kani Kusruti plays police officer Tina Sebastian, who is dedicated to women's safety and takes up a tangled case.

The story begins with the romance of two people who meet on a dating app. After the first meeting, promises and sweet dreams, the relationship turns into the obsessive love of a deranged lover. As the number of stalking-related murders in the city rises, Tina begins her investigation. Meanwhile, the police department introduces an app called 'EYES', and the probe takes a new turn.

For action fans, there is 'Khalifa: The Ruler', starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Neil Nitin Mukesh in the lead roles, with Mohanlal and Tovino Thomas in guest appearances. The film is directed by Vysakh and the story is written by Jinu V. Abraham.

The story centres on Mambarakkal Aamir Ali, a young man who runs a clothes shop in Koduvally. Aamir falls in love with Fiza and the two marry. But his life changes completely after the murder of his father, Mambarakkal Yunus Ali. Circumstances push him into the smuggling trade that his grandfather once dominated, and from there action and conflict enter his life. A sequel to the film has also been announced.

For those looking for horror and supernatural thrills, 'Carrie' is an option. The eight-episode web series is directed by Mike Flanagan, known for series such as 'The Haunting of Hill House', 'Midnight Mass' and 'The Fall of the House of Usher'.

The story is based on Stephen King's 1974 novel. Its heroine, Carrie White, is the most isolated girl in high school. She has spent her life at home with her overly restrictive and fanatically religious mother, Margaret. After her father's sudden death, Carrie has to step into the unfamiliar world of a public high school, where she is bullied. Her telekinetic power to move things at will emerges, and the story takes a frightening turn. 'Carrie' can be watched on Prime Video from October 7.

Overall, despite the lack of new Hindi films in theatres, OTT offers many options, from thrillers and investigations to action, psychological drama and horror, for those who want entertainment at home.
