Nitesh Rane claims Aaditya Thackeray went abroad over Disha Salian case
Minister Nitesh Rane said Aaditya Thackeray left the country because his name is being mentioned in the Disha Salian case, after he skipped the Thackeray cousins' rally.
The Thackeray cousins held a rally demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Uddhav Thackeray, chief of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), and MNS president Raj Thackeray were present. A large number of citizens and party workers took part.
Aaditya Thackeray is said to have stayed away from the rally because he was unwell. On this, Minister Nitesh Rane made a big claim. He said Aaditya Thackeray has fled abroad.
The Garjana Morcha brought the Thackeray cousins onto one stage once again, and the rally was widely discussed in political circles. Leaders of the Mahayuti now appear to be attacking the Thackerays over it.
Rane said directly that Aaditya Thackeray fled abroad because his name is coming up in the Disha Salian case. "I think that is why I keep making this demand and voicing my concern," Rane said. "When a person's name keeps coming up in the investigation of serious crimes, it is the responsibility of the investigating agencies to question that person and examine the true situation." He also said that many questions are being raised about the investigation into the Disha Salian case.
Rane also spoke about Aaditya Thackeray's absence from the rally. "Yesterday Aaditya Thackeray was not on the stage. Illness was given as the reason for his absence. But it cannot be concluded from this that he has gone out of the country or is preparing to go. Perhaps he has even gone abroad, and his house should be searched," he said.
Rane went on: "My only demand is that if the investigating agency has suspicion or need regarding a person's travel abroad for legal reasons, it should use the procedure available in law. A lookout notice, passport seizure or any other action should be based not merely on allegations but on solid evidence and legal process. However high a position a person holds, the investigation must be fair and the truth must come out. The law should be equal for all, that is my stand."
Allegations and counter-allegations over the Disha Salian case have thus intensified once again in Maharashtra politics.
