About 9,000 serving employees and 4,500 pensioners of Nagpur Zilla Parishad received October's salary and pension on November 2 under the e-Kuber system.

Employees and pensioners of Nagpur Zilla Parishad received their October money on a single day this time. On November 2, both salary and pension were credited to bank accounts. About 9,000 serving employees of the Zilla Parishad received their salary, while the pension of nearly 4,500 retired employees reached their accounts.

This was done through the e-Kuber system. The Rural Development Department of the Maharashtra government wanted salaries of serving employees and pensions of retired employees to be credited regularly on the 1st of every month. For this, the department had chosen Nagpur Zilla Parishad as a pilot project.

Under the e-Kuber system, several steps in the process of crediting salary and pension have been cut. The money now goes directly to the bank accounts of the employees concerned through the treasury.

For the past three months, the pension of retired employees has been credited regularly on the first day of the month or on the first working day of the month. Nagpur Zilla Parishad has achieved notable success in disbursing salaries and pensions.

Dr Sohan Chavre, district president of the Castribe Zilla Parishad Karmachari Sanghatana, said this was highly satisfying and a relief for Zilla Parishad employees.

Putting the system into practice was not easy. Taking e-Kuber training, understanding its technical aspects and fitting them into day-to-day work all threw up several technical difficulties. The employees concerned worked continuously to overcome these problems and played an important role in getting the system implemented successfully.

Rajat Tajne (General Administration Department), Kalpeog Sonwane and Darshan Rathod (Finance Department) of the Zilla Parishad, and Iqbal Aagwan of Panchayat Samiti Umred contributed to the achievement. These employees made special efforts to make e-Kuber a success. Zilla Parishad CEO Vinayak Mahamuni honoured them with certificates of appreciation.
