The annual general body meeting of Shri Sant Kodayya Maharaj Sansthan has not been held so far, which has caused resentment among the institution's members and villagers. Members and villagers have submitted a representation to the Sansthan's president and secretary, demanding that the general body meeting be called soon and its date be announced at the earliest.

According to the representation, the members want the audit report and the statement of accounts for the financial year 2025-26 placed before them at the meeting. They have also demanded that the report and the statement of accounts be presented at the next general body meeting for all members to examine and approve.

The Sansthan is a centre of faith for devotees in the area. The annual general body meeting is considered important so that its working remains transparent and members get information on financial transactions. The representation says September has passed and the meeting has still not been called. Members also complain that they were given no prior notice of the meeting.

The representation says the meeting should discuss the year's accounts, a review of financial transactions, the audit report and plans for the coming year. Members getting the necessary information on financial dealings and having a chance to ask questions is an important part of institutional transparency, it says. Members have expressed the hope that the picture on financial transactions will be clear and that decisions will be taken after taking them into confidence.

The representation directly asks what the real reason is for not holding the meeting even after September has passed. It also demands that the management make clear on which date the meeting will be held.

It further says the general body meeting allows a review of the Sansthan's working. Financial transactions, religious and social programmes, plans for upcoming events and members' suggestions can also be discussed there. If the meeting is not held on time, members may find it difficult to get information on the Sansthan's working, it says.

The signatories have demanded that the president and secretary heed the members' demand and fix the date of the meeting immediately. All members should be given official notice of it, and arrangements should be made to place the audit report and statement of accounts for 2025-26 before the meeting, they said.

The representation says transparency, financial discipline and members' participation matter in the working of a religious institution. Calling the general body meeting, answering members' questions and building an atmosphere of trust about future working is therefore an important responsibility of the management, it says.

Members and villagers are now watching when the Sansthan's management will heed the representation and announce the date of the meeting, and when it will place the account of financial transactions before the members.
