A maternal uncle and his nephew came to blows in Ghatkul village, under Pombhurna police station limits in Chandrapur district. The dispute is said to have arisen over house construction and the removal of roof tiles. Both sides filed complaints against each other, and Pombhurna police have registered cases on both. Each side alleges assault and threats, and people on both sides were injured.
According to the information available, on the morning of 24 October 2026 Dayanand Uddhav Dudhe of Ghatkul was plastering his new house. The tiled roof of his mother's old house was extending towards the wall and getting in the way of the plastering, so he was removing one row of tiles. His nephew, Rajeshwar Vilas Durge, arrived at that point and asked why the tiles were being taken off. The exchange escalated, and both sides allege abuse and assault.
According to the complaint from one side, Rajeshwar Durge hurled foul abuse at Dayanand Dudhe, his wife Darshana Dudhe and their daughter Sapna Undirwade, and beat them. He is also alleged to have threatened to kill them while brandishing an axe.
The other side's complaint tells a different story. It says that when Rajeshwar Durge questioned them, his maternal uncle Dayanand Dudhe, Sameer Dudhe, Darshana Dudhe and Sapna Undirwade together beat him badly. Sameer Dudhe is alleged to have throttled him, and Dayanand Dudhe to have struck his back and hand with an iron rod, injuring him seriously. A threat to kill him has also been alleged.
Taking the matter seriously, Pombhurna police registered cases on the complaints of both sides under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). On one side, cases of assault and criminal intimidation have been registered against Rajeshwar Durge. On the other, cases of attempt to murder and assault have been registered against Dayanand Dudhe, Sameer Dudhe, Darshana Dudhe and Sapna Undirwade.
Further investigation has been handed to Assistant Sub-Inspector Nagnath Naitam. The dispute, which involves family and ownership issues, has caused a stir in Ghatkul.
