Kingaon Raja: Man held after wife, 25, found dead; police say he killed her over suspicion of character

A married woman was found dead on Wednesday at around 6 am at a rented house on Umarad Road in Kingaon Raja, where she lived with her husband. The deceased has been identified as Sanjeevani Sanjay Dabhade, 25.

According to information from the police, her husband Sanjay Dabhade killed her by hanging her with a noose-like loop, out of suspicion about her character. The incident has caused a major stir in the Kingaon Raja area. People expressed sorrow that two young children have lost their mother.

A team from Kingaon Raja police station reached the spot soon after the news came in. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Arjun Thosare and police station in-charge Sanjay Matondkar visited the scene and inspected it. Police have detained the accused husband, Sanjay Dabhade. Sanjeevani's body was sent for post-mortem.

Sanjeevani's father, Sudhakar Waghmare, a resident of Hivarkhed Purna, gave an oral complaint. Kingaon Raja police have registered a case on that basis. After the post-mortem was completed, Sanjeevani was cremated in a sombre atmosphere at Sakharkhed Tejan. Kingaon Raja police are conducting further investigation under the supervision of Matondkar.

According to neighbours, Sanjay Dabhade lived in the rented house on Umarad Road in Kingaon Raja with his wife Sanjeevani and their two young children. The couple often quarrelled. The quarrels are said to have been over suspicion about her character. Sanjeevani's death came to light on Wednesday morning against this background.

The incident has plunged the entire area into mourning. Police have taken the incident, which arose from a domestic quarrel, seriously and have begun further investigation. The family of the deceased has said they expect strict action against the accused. Everyone in the area is saddened by the death of the mother of two young children.
