Jarange Patil urges Marathas to attend Dasara rally at Narayangad, slams government
Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil appealed to the community to turn up in large numbers at the Dasara rally at Narayangad, and criticised the government on several issues.
Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil has appealed to the Maratha community to attend the Dasara rally at Narayangad in large numbers. The slogan "Ek Maratha, Lakh Maratha" will ring out once again on the occasion. He made the appeal to the community from Jalna.
Earlier, during Ganeshotsav, Jarange had called for an agitation in Mumbai over his various demands. He had even set out towards Mumbai. At that time, the government met him and requested him to withdraw the agitation. After some of his demands were accepted, he had put the agitation on hold.
Speaking to reporters, Jarange Patil commented on several subjects. On the Election Commission, he said the BJP government should remove Gyanesh Kumar and appoint someone else in his place. He also asked whether the government and Gyanesh Kumar were in collusion.
On drought and the problems of farmers, Jarange Patil said the government should wipe the farmers' tears by giving them Rs 1 lakh per hectare in assistance. He gave the government a blunt warning: "The people can put you in power, and they can also pull you down." He cornered the government by asking why a blanket loan waiver was not being given to farmers. He also demanded that fodder camps be started in every village.
Jarange Patil claimed that a game was on in which, whenever Maratha community members begin to ask for reservation, they are bullied and the agitation is crushed. "The dam of patience is now going to break," he said. He said he was being harassed severely, and so were Maratha agitators.
Criticising the government, Jarange said, "An open dictatorship is on, the rulers are running an oppressive regime, and this government is extremely unjust." He also said he was not ready to be the government's friend. Jarange Patil said that every time moves were made to make him bow before the government, the Maratha community should come together with a hundred times the strength.
Finally, he announced his stand on the Dasara rally. He once again appealed to the Maratha community to attend the rally at Narayangad in large numbers.
