Disha Salian case: Ruckus outside Matoshree as father serves Aaditya Thackeray Rs 500 crore notice
Satish Salian, Disha Salian's father, delivered a Rs 500 crore defamation notice to Aaditya Thackeray outside the Thackeray residence Matoshree amid tense scenes.
The Disha Salian death case has once again stirred up the political atmosphere in Mumbai. A high-voltage drama unfolded outside Matoshree, the Thackeray family residence, on Saturday afternoon. Disha Salian's father Satish Salian arrived at Matoshree with a full team of lawyers to serve a legal notice. The notice was sent following a social media post made by Aaditya Thackeray.
Satish Salian has already filed a defamation case against Aaditya Thackeray and former home minister Anil Deshmukh. He arrived at Matoshree with his lawyers to serve a notice related to the same case.
Before heading to Matoshree, Satish Salian took an aggressive tone while speaking to the media. He said clearly, "No one can control me. Only God can control me, no one else." He also said that his full team of lawyers was with him.
As news of Satish Salian's arrival at Matoshree spread, heavy police deployment was put in place in the area. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Member of Parliament Anil Desai also arrived at Matoshree. Advocates Rahul Divate and Anil Jadhav were present at the Matoshree gate to accept the notice on behalf of Aaditya Thackeray.
Tension built up outside Matoshree for a while. Shiv Sainiks opposed letting Satish Salian go inside, as a result of which the process was completed with the notice being accepted at the gate itself instead of being delivered inside the house.
A defamation notice of Rs 500 crore has been sent to Aaditya Thackeray in this case. Thackeray's lawyers accepted the notice and gave an acknowledgement to Satish Salian's lawyers.
The Disha Salian case has previously seen politics of allegations and counter-allegations. With the fresh legal notice and the Rs 500 crore claim, the case is back in the spotlight. Political circles are watching closely to see what stance Aaditya Thackeray and the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction take on this notice going forward.
