Deepsandhya concert in Gondia enthrals music lovers ahead of Diwali

The Gondia branch of the Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh organised a music programme, "Deepsandhya", at Padmanarayan Bapat Lawns in Railtoli, in the festive autumn mood ahead of Diwali. The event was held with great enthusiasm and joy.

It began with the formal worship of Saraswati and the lighting of the lamp. The Sangh then welcomed those present. Veena Acharya gave the introduction, and Bhairavi Deshpande compiled the programme gracefully.

The programme was held in association with the Swararadhya Sangeet Pratishthan of Nagpur. Pt. Janardanpant Ladse, Shailesh Ladekar (an All India Radio and Doordarshan artiste), well-known singer Pallavi Kumbhare and Devika Latkar held the audience spellbound with their melodious voices. Kunal Dahekar (tabla), Prakash Kalsia (keyboard) and Shrikant Kulkarni (octapad) provided fine accompaniment. The audience showed its delight at the songs, and some danced to them.

Hundreds of music lovers from Gondia city turned up. Melodious songs and enchanting music filled the venue. At the end, all shared a community meal. The Sangh's initiative is being widely appreciated.
