Congress should introspect instead of doubting Election Commission, says Shivendraraje Bhosale
Public Works Minister Shivendraraje Bhosale said Congress is creating confusion by questioning the Election Commission and should look into the reasons for its defeats.
Satara: Public Works Minister Shivendraraje Bhosale claimed that the Congress is creating confusion among people by questioning the functioning of the Election Commission. Instead of pointing fingers at the voting process and constitutional bodies after losing elections, the Congress should look for the reasons for its defeat and introspect, he said.
He was speaking at a press conference in Satara. BJP group leader Avinash Kadam, Vikas Gosavi, Vitthal Balshettawar and others were present.
Bhosale said the clarification the Election Commission gave on the SIR process has exposed inconsistencies in the Congress's allegations. He said, "It has been made clear that there are no differences among the commissioners of the Central Election Commission. The commission has also said that the SIR process is going on unanimously. Even so, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is questioning the commission's stand and trying to advance a particular political narrative."
Citing the Congress's victories in the elections in Karnataka, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh, he questioned the party's stand. He said, "It is not right to say that democracy has won when you win, and to express doubt about the voting system or the election process when you lose. The Congress should introspect on its own governance."
He also commented on the SIR process under way to review the voter lists. He said all political parties have an opportunity to take part in this exercise to make the voter lists more accurate. He appealed to them to take part and point out errors rather than spread misunderstanding. He also alleged that confusion is being created about Form 6. He criticised the Congress for a double standard, saying it makes allegations against constitutional bodies while invoking the Constitution.
Bhosale drew attention to the fact that the people of the country have given Narendra Modi's leadership a chance for a third consecutive time. He said that, instead of doubting the election process, the party needs to accept the people's verdict and introspect at the organisational and political levels.
Saying the Cabinet Secretary's letter related to appointments on deputation, Bhosale claimed that the opposition gave it a different meaning and tried to create misunderstanding among people. He also criticised the Congress, saying that because Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership cannot be challenged directly at the political level, it is creating confusion over various issues.
