Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will tour villages in Nagpur district today, 8 November, speaking to farmers and inspecting fields, including the stalled Khori irrigation project.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will visit farmers' fields even on Diwali. Today (8 November) he will tour several villages in Nagpur district, which includes talking to farmers and inspecting fields.

The tour begins at Lohari Sawanga village in Narkhed taluka. There, at about 9:30 am, the Chief Minister will hold talks with the sarpanch and other public representatives. According to the schedule, a meeting and discussion with all public representatives of Narkhed taluka will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

At about 11 am, the Chief Minister will then see the work of the Khori irrigation project near Lohari Sawanga. The project has been stalled for several decades. During this inspection, scheduled from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, the Khori project, farm roads and fields will be visited on site. After the visit, the stalled Khori irrigation project is expected to move forward.

At 11:30 am the Chief Minister will begin leaving Lohari Sawanga for Kohli village in Kalmeshwar taluka. The distance between the two places is 55 km and the journey will take about 45 minutes. At about 12 noon he will see some fields at Kohli. The schedule records an inspection of drought-hit farming and water conservation works at Kohli from 12:15 pm to 12:30 pm.

At 12:30 pm the Chief Minister will leave Kohli for Nagpur. The distance is 30 km and the drive along NH 47 will take about 30 minutes. He will reach Nagpur at 1 pm.

The Diwali-day visit is seen as important for talking to farmers and learning about their problems. Farmers are watching what relief the visit brings them.

In view of the drought, Chief Minister Fadnavis had directed every minister in Maharashtra to stay at a farmer's home and eat there. The Chief Minister himself stayed the night at Ramabhau Balpande's house in Lohari Sawanga village in Nagpur district and ate there. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule also stayed at the home of farmer Nanduji Lohe in Lohari Sawanga. Now the Chief Minister is setting out again today to inspect fields.
