BJP came to power through vote theft, AITUC leader Amarjeet Kaur says at Nagpur convention
AITUC national general secretary Amarjeet Kaur alleged at the union's Maharashtra state session in Nagpur that the BJP won power by stealing votes.
The 20th Maharashtra state convention of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) was inaugurated at Samvidhan Chowk in Nagpur. AITUC national general secretary Amarjeet Kaur alleged that the BJP had come to power by stealing votes. She said the country's youth were now taking to the path of agitation against this.
Kaur said young people wanted education and jobs, but the BJP government was trying to keep the country's youth unemployed. She said more than one lakh schools had been shut down. She claimed that youth power had shown that the alleged conspiracies of the Modi government would no longer be allowed to continue.
She said this government would not last much longer and that the country's youth had awakened. She also claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not be able to protect Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar for long. According to Kaur, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had to resign because of the Gen Z movement, and Gyanesh Kumar too would have to resign.
Before the inaugural ceremony, a rally was taken out from Subhash Road. It reached Samvidhan Chowk and turned into a public meeting. District president B.N.J. Sharma presided. Salil Deshmukh, Subhash Lande, Mohan Sharma, Sukumar Damle, C.J. Joseph, Shyam Kale and Raju Desle were among a large number of members from across the state who were present.
Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh also attacked the anti-labour policies of the Centre and the state government at the meeting. He said working hours were being increased from 8 to 12. According to him, 29 labour laws have been repealed and four labour codes brought in to suppress workers.
Deshmukh alleged that the state government had adopted a dictatorial attitude in the name of the public security law. He said a law had been made under which those who oppose the government's policies can be declared "urban Naxals" and arrested.
