A serious accident occurred at noon on the Nashik-Peth Road near Umrale village, where a bike and a truck collided head-on. After the collision, the diesel tank exploded and both vehicles caught fire. Both were completely gutted. No lives were lost in the accident.

After the collision, the bike got trapped under the Hyva truck and was dragged forward. The friction between the two vehicles as the truck dragged the bike set the truck's diesel tank on fire, and it then exploded.

The bike rider was thrown to one side in the collision and survived. The truck driver saw that the bike was stuck under the truck and jumped out in time. The truck caught fire only moments after the two had got out. Their timely escape averted a greater tragedy.

The fire was so fierce that the Hyva truck kept burning in the middle of the road. A fire brigade team reached the spot as soon as news of the blaze came in, and brought the fire under control after a few minutes. By then, both the truck and the bike had been completely burnt.

Traffic had to be halted on the road for a long time because of the accident and the fire. Long queues of vehicles built up on both sides, leading to a jam. After the fire was put out, the two burnt vehicles were moved aside and the road was reopened.
