AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi answered a question on the BJP's remark about Rahul Gandhi by joking that he listens to his wife, drawing laughter from those present.

A reply by AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi is being discussed in political circles. He was asked about a BJP remark on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and answered in his own style.

The BJP had called Rahul Gandhi an "anti-India pagloo". Owaisi was asked for his reaction to the statement. Instead of entering the political debate directly, he linked the word "pagloo" to his personal life.

Owaisi said, "I am a biwi pagloo. I have a wife and children. If you want to live in peace in life, believe what I say." People present laughed at the reply. He said this in a light-hearted tone about listening to one's wife and living happily with family.

He thus made no political counterattack on the BJP's remark. Instead, he gave it a humorous turn and spoke of his relationship with his wife and children. His statement has now become a talking point in political circles.

This is not the first time Owaisi has described himself this way. He had said something similar at a rally in Uttar Pradesh in October. At that rally he had targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

In the same speech he had spoken of keeping his wife happy and called himself a "wife pagloo". He later shared a video clip of that speech on his Instagram account.

Allegations and verbal duels between leaders often make headlines. Against that backdrop, Owaisi's reply stood apart from other reactions. Rather than giving a political answer to the BJP's remark on Rahul Gandhi, he advised listening to one's wife. The light-hearted remark has given the political debate a new turn, and the phrase "biwi pagloo" is now being talked about.
