Political strategist Prashant Kishor joined online as his team and MP Parth Pawar met for four hours on Friday, sources said, on the NCP's role in the Mahayuti.
An important meeting on the Nationalist Congress Party's way forward was held on Friday. The meeting between political strategist Prashant Kishor's team and MP Parth Pawar lasted a full four hours. According to sources, Kishor himself joined the meeting online.
Sources said the meeting discussed how to coordinate with the Shiv Sena and the BJP in the Mahayuti and what the party's role in it should be. Sources also said that responsibility for coordination in dealing with social media and the media has been assigned as well.
It is also emerging that the party has given MLA Shivajirao Garje two tasks: to hold talks with Kishor's team, and to handle the financial side of that team's work.
Sources said the work had been going on at a preliminary level for the past four months. Kishor's team will now take it over fully. According to sources, the party has recently transferred a large sum of money to Kishor's team for this.
If the sources are to be believed, Kishor's team will now look after the work of the NCP's Ajit Pawar faction. In the coming days, it will be important to see how the NCP proceeds, what changes are made within the party and what decisions are taken as part of the Mahayuti.
Meanwhile, talk of a merger of the two NCP parties has been surfacing from time to time over the past few days. However, neither the Ajit Pawar faction nor the Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP has so far taken a clear stand.
With merger talk on one side and Kishor's team set to handle the Ajit Pawar faction's work on the other, the four-hour meeting between Kishor's team and MP Parth Pawar took place against this background, according to the information now emerging. All of this is based on sources.
