The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation is stepping up outreach, with special camps planned in rural areas, so eligible passengers keep their fare concessions.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has asked women and other passengers eligible for fare concessions to complete their National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) registration by the end of November 2026. The corporation is stepping up efforts to reach such beneficiaries across the state, with particular attention to women passengers and people in rural areas.

The registration drive aims to ensure that eligible passengers can continue to avail of fare concessions through the NCMC system. The corporation has asked those who have not yet registered for the card to do so within the deadline, so that they face no difficulty when claiming the benefit.

Registration and card distribution are available through authorised agencies at MSRTC depots, bus stations and other designated locations. These centres are open from 7 am to 7 pm, so passengers can complete the formalities at a time convenient to them during the day.

To make registration easily available in rural areas, MSRTC has asked for special camps to be held through panchayat samiti and gram panchayat offices. The camps are meant for eligible people who find it hard to reach the regular registration centres.

The initiative will place special emphasis on women and senior citizens, including those covered by the corporation's concession schemes. Local officials have been asked to coordinate with representatives of MSRTC's divisional offices and depots to arrange the camps and make the registration process easy for eligible people.

The corporation also stressed the need for coordination at the local level, so that beneficiaries who have not yet completed registration are not left out. Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, homemakers and working women have been named among the groups that should be told about the facilities available.

The proposed camps are expected to bring the registration service closer to people, so that eligible passengers do not have to travel long distances to complete it.

NCMC cards are being issued, in line with a government order, to passengers eligible for MSRTC's fare concessions. The aim is to make it easier to avail of the corporation's various fare concession schemes.

Women passengers have been asked to complete registration by the end of November. The corporation wants to ensure that incomplete registration does not cause trouble when passengers use their travel concession.

MSRTC has appealed to eligible passengers to visit the authorised registration centres and complete the required formalities within the deadline. People in rural areas can also contact their local panchayat samiti or gram panchayat office for details of the special registration camps.

The corporation has asked the local administration concerned, along with its divisional and depot-level representatives, to work together so that as many registrations as possible are completed before the deadline.
