Campaigning for the Legislative Council election has now gathered pace. Shiv Sena chief leader and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will address a public meeting in Amravati on Sunday, October 18. He is visiting Amravati to campaign for Kiran Sarnaik, the Mahayuti's official candidate for the teachers' constituency. The state is watching what Shinde will say at the rally.
The Shiv Sena has fielded sitting MLC Kiran Sarnaik as the Mahayuti candidate for the Amravati teachers' constituency. Deputy Chief Minister Shinde will hold a high-voltage rally in Amravati tomorrow for Sarnaik's campaign. Sarnaik's camp has made vigorous preparations for the meeting.
Shinde had earlier expressed confidence that Mahayuti candidates alone would be elected on all five Legislative Council seats. Party leaders have expressed confidence that during tomorrow's visit Shinde will ease the path to victory for Mahayuti candidate Kiran Sarnaik by addressing a campaign rally in the Amravati teachers' constituency. According to party leaders, Shinde will present an account of the work Sarnaik did in the Council as a legislator. He will also speak on teachers' issues. Teachers from across the district may attend the rally in large numbers.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Anand Dubey, national spokesperson of the UBT faction, joined the Shiv Sena in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Rahul Kanal, the Shiv Sena's state social media chief and Yuva Sena general secretary, and other senior office-bearers were present at the party event in Thane.
Deputy Chief Minister Shinde said he had watched Dubey work in the Shiv Sena for many years. According to him, this worker, who has played a role for the party at the national level, today joined the original Shiv Sena. Along with Anand Dubey, Gulabchand Maurya, Sunil Chaubey, Brijesh Maurya, Dashrath Prajapati, Praveen Dubey, Dhananjay Gupta and several others also took up the Shiv Sena's bow and arrow.
