India made a strong start to the five-match T20 series against New Zealand. The first match was played on Thursday, October 22, at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Plenty of runs were scored, and India beat New Zealand by four wickets in the end.
All-rounder Naman Dhir impressed and steered India to a fine win. With this result, India lead the five-match series 1-0. All eyes are now on the second match.
The second T20 between India and New Zealand will be played on Saturday, October 24, also at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, where the first match was held. Both teams are therefore familiar with the nature of the pitch. Having lost the first match, New Zealand will try to win the second and make a comeback in the series.
The captain who wins the toss at this ground may choose to bowl first. In the first match, India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl. Even so, New Zealand scored plenty of runs batting first. A big score could therefore be seen in the second match as well.
The match will start at 12:30 pm Indian time. Half an hour earlier, at 12 noon, the two captains will walk out for the toss.
The match can be watched live on various channels of the Sony Sports Network. It will also be broadcast on DD Sports, where it can be watched free of cost.
