India's winning run continues at the FIFA Under-15 World Cup 2026. On Sunday, in their second group match, India beat Cameroon 2-1. It is India's second successive win in the tournament.

Rain made conditions difficult, but the Indian players played with courage to take the win. Goalkeeper Jenit Ningthoujam was the biggest hero of the victory, making several key saves, including one from a penalty.

The match was played at the Hobson Competition Complex. India took the lead in the very first minute. From a corner by Deepak Singh Arambam, Cameroon's Farrel Ngobo made an error and the ball went into his own goal. India led 1-0.

Cameroon then played at pace and put pressure on India's goal area. But Jenit made fine saves to foil their efforts. A free-kick came in the 16th minute, and Cameroon got chances in the 17th and 18th minutes too, and each time Jenit stood firm.

India also tried to extend the lead. In the 14th minute, captain R. Lalremruatfela had a chance to score, but a Cameroon defender stopped the ball at the last moment.

Cameroon equalised in the 20th minute. Nadam Mokhtar crossed from the right, and the ball struck India's Mohammad Sohil Khan and went into his own goal. The score was 1-1. Both teams played aggressively in the first half, but neither could go ahead by half-time.

India came out with fresh energy in the second half. After Ronandev Aheibam came on, the team's attack gained more edge. In the 27th minute, Ronandev won the ball in midfield and passed it to Deepak. Deepak delivered an accurate low cross into the goal area and captain R. Lalremruatfela guided the ball goalward with his left foot. The goal put India ahead 2-1.

India faced a major threat in the 31st minute. The ball struck the hand of Nara Meitei Laushambam and the referee awarded Cameroon a penalty. But in the 32nd minute, Jenit Ningthoujam saved Harouna Abdoulaye's penalty, and India's lead was preserved.

India kept attacking in the closing stages as well. After a powerful shot from Ronandev, the goalkeeper also saved a free-kick from Soumojit Sarkar. India finally won the match 2-1. With this win, India are the only team in the group to have won both their matches.
