Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, has been released on bail. He had been detained from the Connaught Place area of Delhi ahead of the "Lehra Do Tiranga" march. He was produced in court, where bail was granted. While granting bail, the special magistrate's court set some conditions for Dipke. After coming out of custody, Dipke shared two posts on social media, and these are now being discussed.
The "Lehra Do Tiranga" protest was to be held in the Connaught Place area on Friday. In view of this, Delhi Police had served Dipke a notice not to hold the protest. He stood by his stand that he would go ahead with it, so police detained him.
According to Delhi Police, preventive action was taken in the matter under Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Dipke was then produced before the special executive magistrate attached to the Mandir Marg police station. He was granted bail after the court hearing.
According to available information, he had to sign a bond to keep the peace as a condition of bail. It is said to include a condition to maintain peace for about a year.
On leaving custody, Dipke made his first post on the social media platform X. He shared a photograph of actor Shah Rukh Khan and wrote, "How does it feel to walk out of jail without 24-hour Wi-Fi and a phone." The post has begun drawing discussion on social media and has caught the attention of his supporters as well as other users.
In the second post, Dipke shared a photograph of Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka. He called the two "my two brothers" and wrote in the post that he is waiting for their release.
Dipke has got bail, but attention is on what happens next regarding the release of Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka.
The action before the "Lehra Do Tiranga" protest and Dipke's posts since have created curiosity about the Cockroach Janta Party's next step. What remains to be seen is what the conditions of Dipke's bail turn out to be, what the status of the release of Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka is, and whether the party announces its next protest.
