Political activity in the state has picked up. Leaders of the NCP, the faction of Ajit Pawar, have gone to meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over the demand for the Finance department. It is learnt that a meeting was held at Varsha after this meeting, with senior NCP leaders present. The meeting is being talked about widely in political circles.

Earlier today, at 9 am, the core committee of the Nationalist Congress Party, led by Sunetra Pawar, met at Devgiri, the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar. The core committee could meet only after a full one and a half months. The party organisation was reportedly reviewed, followed by a discussion on changes in the party. It is also said that the Finance department, which is currently with the BJP, was discussed.

As soon as the core committee meeting ended, leaders of Ajitdada's NCP reached Varsha to meet Fadnavis. Sunil Tatkare, Praful Patel and Chhagan Bhujbal were with Sunetra Pawar. The demand for the Finance department has added to the importance of today's meeting.

Minister Anil Patil said, "After the core committee meeting today, everyone went to meet Chief Minister Fadnavis. According to the policy that was decided across the state, the three parties had decided, when forming the government, which party would hold which department. But after the unfortunate incident involving Dada, we hope that whatever was decided should be given. Workers are expressing such expectations."

Earlier too, an office-bearer of Ajitdada's NCP had tried to get the Finance department back. Now senior party leaders have also dug in over the Finance department, according to information received. All eyes are therefore on what is decided at the meeting with the Chief Minister.
