Thackeray faction MP Sanjay Raut said Sharad Pawar will not go into government with the Ajit Pawar camp, and claimed Parth Pawar now holds the NCP's reins.
Thackeray faction MP Sanjay Raut addressed a press conference in Mumbai, where he put a direct question to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Raut said that if the Prime Minister phones and says "we will look after the country", why did he break their parties?
According to Raut, reports about Sharad Pawar and his party keep appearing. He said Pawar is a major pillar of the INDIA bloc. Raut said he met Pawar the previous day as well, but Pawar is undergoing treatment, so the circumstances were not right for a detailed conversation.
On the question of an NCP merger, Raut said: "What the Ajit Pawar faction says has no importance. Wherever you are, you are in trouble. Whether the Ajit Pawar faction will come and work with Sharad Pawar is a decision Sharad Pawar will take. Sharad Pawar will not go into power with you."
Raut also spoke on the political activity over the delimitation Bill. In his words: "A political exercise is going on. Nets are being cast. But no fish, small or big, will be caught in it. The number they hope for will not be reached."
Targeting Sunil Tatkare, Raut asked why Tatkare has to make contradictory statements. Raut claimed that the ED cases against Mushrif and Praful Patel have been settled. He also said the party's entire command is in the hands of Parth Pawar, who is the party's leader. According to Raut, everyone will have to work with Parth Pawar. Parth Pawar is taking the party forward in his own way, and anything new to be done in the party will also be done his way.
On Sharad Pawar's political activity, Raut said Pawar is a full-time politician and spends every moment discussing politics. Raut said Pawar wanted to read a book, so he gave him a copy of "Bodh and Kirtan".
Raut also referred to a letter from Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide. He said Bhide has written to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. According to Raut, the letter names builders and alleges that illegal pressure is being put on work. Raut said he too would write about this soon.
Raut asked what kind of demons the Chief Minister is nurturing in Mumbai. He said the municipal commissioner having to write a letter means she too is fed up with this harassment.
