Shiv Sena (Shinde) leader Sachin Ahir said elections should be held democratically, as the government's decision on Gokul divides parties inside and outside the Mahayuti.

The power struggle in the Gokul milk union has intensified. The government has decided to appoint four directors to Gokul. The Maha Vikas Aghadi is strongly opposing this decision of the Mahayuti government.

The BJP and the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction), both part of the government, have backed the decision. The Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), also a constituent of the Mahayuti, has expressed displeasure over the decision and issued an open warning.

Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Sachin Ahir has now given his first reaction to the matter. He expressed concern over the state government's decision. Ahir said he did not have all the information on what had happened in Gokul. But he said it was the party's sentiment that elections should be held in a democratic manner.

Ahir went on to mention future elections. According to him, district bank elections are due, and the Mumbai Bank election will also be held. He said the party also faces the question of what to do if the same happens there as in Gokul.

Ahir also said that senior leaders of the party would speak on the stand taken by the NCP and the BJP.

Ahir also referred to the honour given to Eknath Shinde in Varanasi. He said it was a big matter for the party that Shinde was honoured in Varanasi. Ahir said Shinde is always ready to protect Hindus and works for that cause, and so the party has received this valuable honour. He said, "We welcome it."

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) chief Uddhav Thackeray phoned Satej Patil against this backdrop and expressed his support. Uddhav Thackeray told Satej Patil, "We are with you to save democracy."

The government's decision to appoint four directors to Gokul has thus drawn different stands from different parties. The Maha Vikas Aghadi is strongly opposing it. The BJP and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) have supported it. The Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) has expressed displeasure, while Sachin Ahir has said he wants elections to be held in a democratic manner.
